High quality & excellent value

The ALBA is my introduction to Meze, and I am delighted to say that it is a very comfortable and light iem, with a balanced, enjoyable sound across a range of music types from rock to acoustic to classical. I found that switching from M to L eartips improved the seal and bass performance significantly. The ALBA is provided at a fair price that provides a high quality and high value purchase for listeners. Very highly recommended ;-)

Hello, Paul :)

Thank you for joining and we hope you'll enjoy many many hours of audio bliss.

Meze Audio Albas are my new daily IEMs

The Meze Audio Albas are an excellent all round IEM and are now my daily IEMs. The stick tips are rubbish though and I have paired them with some Sonicfoam SF1 tips which work well with the Albas and have a good fit.

Love them!

I needed an IEM upgrade and I'm happy to say I really got one with these. They are very comfortable, have premium build quality and provide a great listening experience. I find them very versatile and well suited for my eclectic music taste (I listen to a lot of prog rock/metal, avant-garde, fusion/jazz and whatnot). They sound great whatever I throw at them, from clean accoustic stuff like Madalina Paval's 'Canta-mi Doina' to earth shattering bangers like Igorrr's 'Himalaya Massive Ritual', just to give some examples. Money well spent for me, that's for sure!

Finally a great looking and sounding IEM for everybody

Design, Build, and Comfort

The Meze Alba IEMs are gorgeous! Even my wife, who is usually picky about the aesthetics of audiophile products, approved their design immediately. The pearl finish shines beautifully in the sunlight. They are incredibly comfortable, with non-intrusive nozzles and a compact design that doesn’t protrude awkwardly. My wife finds them more comfortable than any other wired IEM she has tried, even replacing her wireless AirPods Pro. The build quality is excellent for the price, though the cable, while soft and high quality, tends to tangle easily.

Sound Quality

I bought the Alba primarily for their sound quality, and they do not disappoint. They feature a mild V-shaped frequency response with a rich, balanced bass and an exciting, but not overpowering, treble.

Bass and Treble

The bass is weighty and clean, with a satisfying balance between sub-bass and mid-bass. The treble is elevated just enough to add excitement without becoming sibilant or fatiguing. While not a detail monster like higher-end models, the Alba provides a pleasant listening experience with its warm bass and clear treble.

Vocals and Instrument Separation

Vocals are fully present and distinct, never overshadowed by other elements. The Alba excels at separating vocals and instruments, creating a layered soundstage where each element has its place.

Detail Retrieval and Soundstage

The Alba offers a great level of detail for its price range but doesn’t match the finest detail retrieval of more expensive IEMs. The soundstage is surprisingly large, with good width and depth, and the instrument separation is impressive. You can clearly place different instruments in the sound field, enhancing the overall listening experience.

Eartips

Using the stock eartips provides the best seal and sound quality. While I experimented with other tips, the stock ones proved to be the most effective. They are soft, long, and provide a proper seal, which is crucial for optimal bass performance.
DAC/AMP Compatibility

The included USB-C dongle is functional but not the best for sound quality. It can add harshness to the treble, so upgrading to a better DAC/AMP is recommended. My wife is content with the stock dongle, but for audiophiles, a better option would enhance the listening experience.

Conclusion

The Meze Alba IEMs are a fantastic choice for both casual and serious listeners. They offer a beautiful design, excellent comfort, and impressive sound quality at an affordable price. My wife and I are both happy with our purchase, and we highly recommend them.
