109 PRO
MEDIA REVIEWS

I think it has a very good value and it’s in my opinion one of the best headphones you can get at this time. If you ever look out for a life-like, vibrant, musical, resolving and dynamic headphone under $1000, I strongly recommend it.

It is extremely well made and will justify your home rig that has a nice and powerful source or amplifier. [...] I was happy to relax and sit down with that Burson rig and use the Meze 109 PRO with it.

Conceived with timelessness in mind, the 109 PRO is meant to surpass short-lived trends and fast-changing industry fashions, rewarding the user with long-term, emotional value.

I’m glad Meze learned what transient response is and why it’s so crucial, I’m glad we got a much wider frequency response that pushed small nuances to the surface, ultimately winning me over with their excellent imaging and natural soundstage.

The new Meze 109 Pro open-back headphones are a triumph, in every respect. The sound quality is pitch-perfect. The openness of the soundstage and the sheer level of detail is astonishing. Listening to music with these unique headphones will have you falling in love with your favorite albums all over again.

I kind of feel like with the 109 Pro headphones, Meze Audio is giving away its magic on the cheap. No, they’re not quite as great-sounding as the Empyreans, but I find them delightfully listenable over the long term, clean and neutral enough to let me “hear into” the recordings and pick out all the parts, which is what I like to do when I’m listening to good headphones.

What this means is that you get a vivid, immersive sound that talks to your heart rather than your head, yet it still ticks all the conventional hi-fi boxes in terms of detail resolution and tonal balance

Meze 109 Pro is one of the best designed and most comfortable headphones in the market with a sound signature that is equally inviting and engaging.

It produces what I think of as the popular Mid-Fi sound, warm and pleasant, rather than the analytical audiophile sound of its bigger brothers. It creates a large enveloping soundstage and works well with most sources and any genre of music.

You can appreciate truly good production when listening to a song like Prove It by Television with the 109 Pro. Here, the clearly delineated, hard-panned instruments, like the repeating electric guitar in the left channel, vocals centered in the mix, and bedrock of bass guitar, exude great clarity.

When building audiophile headphones, every aspect counts. Breakthrough engineering, premium materials, precision and craftsmanship - these are the things that make a Meze headphone stand out.

The Meze 109 Pro is an excellent open-back headphone with a natural and spacious sound that is worth its price. Its slightly warmer sound signature makes it ideal for people who prefer such headphones.
Low impedance and high sensitivity make it easy to drive with almost any amplifier, but it scales very well with a better source.

Meet the 109 Pro, the company’s first dynamic driver open-back model. It implements a 50mm dynamic driver with a dual membrane design combining a Beryllium-coated polymer, cellulose, carbon-fibre composite and zinc alloy. This is topped off with spider web shaped vents that offer Meze’s most open pattern yet.

Though I expect the best from Meze, I’m nonetheless blown away with what they accomplished with the 109 PRO. Meze continues to set their own quality standards by instead focusing on overall balance and tasteful brightness, which I find harder to pull off and all-the-more impressive.

As for listening, these are headphones that excite, able to give that touch of personality that manages to make them stand out from the pack.

I think it has a very good value and it’s in my opinion one of the best headphones you can get at this time. If you ever look out for a life-like, vibrant, musical, resolving and dynamic headphone under $1000, I strongly recommend it.

If we are looking primarily for emotions and spectacularity, but in a refined style, they may be a bull's eye. [...] Theoretically, the 109 PRO should not suit my taste, but in the right combinations I listened to them wonderfully, often I could not tear myself away from the music.

Visually stunning, the 109 Pros manifests Meze's aesthetic; functionality without sacrificing good looks. They can and will rock your world. For $799, it may be the only headphone you need.

The Meze 109 Pro open-back wired headphones are a premium product meant for audiophiles. Handmade in Romania, they are finely crafted and designed to be easily user-serviceable with readily available parts, making them a lifetime investment.

The Meze Audio 109 Pro stands out for its distinctive design and materials. These open-back, wired headphones offer a fun sound with elevated bass and treble, along with a self-adjusting headband for added comfort. While they may be relatively expensive, the Meze Audio 109 Pro offers a unique blend of style and performance.
